Should i go to barbecue?

I'm a teenaged kid who volunteers as a dog walker at an spca. and im pretty much the only kid who is a volunteer. most of them are adults or older people who hate anyone young. while there are a few nice people there, most of them don't like me because i'm a kid. normally it doesn't bother me, but our volunteer coordinator recently announced a "Volunteer and Staff Barbecue". should i go? will i enjoy myself?
